Persistence is the entire mechanic and it is the best feature idea on this site. Marked positions keep their multipliers for the length of the bonus round, so a mediocre round and a 25,000x round differ only by whether the same squares kept winning. Outside the feature that memory is wiped after every spin, which is why the base game is close to worthless and why the published 96.00% is the lowest of the five titles here. It is an aggressive design, honestly labelled Very High, and it earns its score by doing something rather than by printing a bigger number. Everything in the table is Pragmatic Play's own published figure, taken from their game page rather than lifted from whoever ranked first last week. Specs decay as they get copied. Where the provider publishes nothing, this page says nothing rather than borrowing a number.

Where it is good and where it is not

Pros

  • Persistence across a whole round is a genuinely different feature idea, not a bigger number
  • A single square that keeps hitting compounds to 1,024x - that is where the ceiling lives
  • Tumbling clusters make one spin readable as a chain of events rather than one result
  • Two bonus buys, including a super version that starts with multipliers already on the grid
  • 25,000x is one of the highest ceilings Pragmatic Play has published for any title
  • The volatility label is honest - the game plays exactly as violently as it says it will

Cons

  • Marks reset outside the feature, so the base game is a toll rather than a game
  • 96.00% on the provider sheet is the lowest return of the five titles reviewed here
  • No wild symbol anywhere, so nothing rescues a four-symbol near-miss
  • Very high volatility with the return concentrated behind a trigger that lands rarely
  • The bonus buy is easy to misread as value when it only buys the wait

The bonus round, mechanically

Winning clusters mark the grid positions they occupied. A marked spot carries a multiplier that doubles every further time it is part of a win - 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x and onward to a 1,024x cap. Three or more scatters award at least ten free spins, and the difference inside the feature is entirely one of memory: the marks and their multipliers persist for the whole round rather than clearing between spins. That means a square that wins early can be worth hundreds of times more by the end of the round, and it means the first few spins of a huge round look identical to the first few spins of a worthless one.

That paragraph is worth more than the RTP line above it. Very high volatility means the payouts are few and large rather than many and small, so 96.00% is a statement about millions of spins and not a forecast for a Tuesday evening. Budget for the gap between features, not for the average.

Our own run on it

A table of numbers hides the shape of a session. Below is one run recorded as it happened, including the stretch where nothing at all landed.

Spins 1-50 Base-game clusters only. Two spots marked inside the first ten spins and neither was hit again before the grid reset, which is exactly the point - a mark outside the feature is almost always cleared before a second win can land on it. Fifty spins produced a handful of small clusters and no scatter pair worth watching, and the balance moved in one direction throughout.
Spins 51-95 Scatter trigger on the third attempt. Ten spins, and three spots climbed to 16x and then held their positions for the remainder of the round, which is the mechanic doing exactly what it promises. Closed around 60x stake. The compounding was plainly visible in a way it simply never is in the base game, and it is the reason this title scores highest on this site despite publishing the lowest return of the five.
Spins 96-150 Nothing worth writing down. Fifty-four spins of clusters paying less than the stake, no scatter pair worth watching, and a grid that marked spots continuously and cleared every one of them before a second win could land on it. This is the game rather than an unlucky stretch of it, and a session that ends here is the common outcome. Anyone describing this title as generous has either bought the feature or is quoting the ceiling.

Statistically this is worthless - one sample of a game built on rare events. It is here as a description of the rhythm, nothing more.

Playing it legally, province by province

Playing the demo is legal anywhere in Canada, because a demo does not wager anything. Real money is governed province by province. In Ontario the operator has to be registered with iGaming Ontario, and registration means the bonus buy is stripped out of every title. Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Québec each run their own platform. The offshore sites that most affiliate pages send you to sit outside every one of those frameworks - which is worth knowing before the money moves, not after.

Two practical checks: is the account itself in Canadian dollars, and does Interac work for cashouts as well as deposits. A currency round trip through USD costs more than any RTP difference you will find between this game at 96.00% and its rivals.

Sugar Rush 1000 - your questions answered

Persistence. Outside the feature, a winning cluster marks its grid positions and those marks are cleared again almost immediately. Inside the feature they stay put for the entire round, along with whatever multiplier they have accumulated. That means every subsequent win can land on a square that is already multiplied, and the round compounds instead of resolving spin by spin. It is the closest thing in modern slot design to a feature with a memory, and it is why this game scores highest on this site despite publishing the lowest return.

A spot doubles every time it is part of a winning cluster: 2x, then 4x, 8x, 16x and onward to a cap of 1,024x. Reaching the cap requires the same square to keep winning inside one round, which is a rare sequence by design. The practical consequence is that a huge round and an ordinary round look identical for the first several spins - the difference only becomes visible once one or two squares start climbing, and by then the round is usually decided.

Because the marks reset. A cluster in the base game marks a position that will almost certainly be cleared before another win lands on it, so the mechanic that makes the feature exciting is switched off for the part of the game you spend most of your time in. You are paying for entry to the round rather than playing a game with its own value. That is a deliberate trade: the 25,000x ceiling has to be funded out of the same return budget as everything else, and the flat base game is where the money for it comes from.

25,000x your stake, published by Pragmatic Play on the official game page. Reaching it requires several marked spots climbing near the 1,024x cap inside a single bonus round, which is why it is quoted as a ceiling rather than a target. Treat it the way you would treat a lottery jackpot figure: real, verified, and not a number that should influence how you size a session.

It buys the wait, not the odds. A purchased round runs the same mathematics as a naturally triggered one, so your expected return is unchanged while your money moves through the house edge far faster. That is a defensible choice if the base game is what you dislike and you have priced the cost honestly, and a bad one if you have been told it improves your chances. Operators registered with iGaming Ontario remove the option entirely, so in Ontario the decision is made for you.

No wild symbol at all, anywhere in the game. Every win comes from clusters of five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically, multiplied by whatever the squares beneath them have accumulated. Nothing substitutes and nothing rescues a four-symbol near-miss, which makes the game harsher than its cluster-pays presentation suggests.

It is lower. Pragmatic Play publishes 96.00% for Sugar Rush 1000, and the trade is a ceiling five times higher than the original's. That is a deliberate exchange of return for reach rather than a mistake on the sheet, and it is a useful illustration of a general rule: a much larger maximum win is almost always paid for somewhere, either in the return figure or in how thin the base game becomes.

More than most players bring to it. Very high volatility with the return concentrated behind a rare trigger means you are funding a wait, so something in the region of 300 times your per-spin stake is a realistic starting point for a session that reaches the feature more than once. At the C$0.20 minimum that is around C$60; at C$1 a spin it is C$300. Cutting the stake to lengthen the session is strictly better than shortening the session to protect the stake.
